Walking the Gap of Dunloe

Steph and I traveled to Ireland in September; we spent a week driving and walking around Killarney, the Dingle Peninsula and Lahinch.

Wing with lasers

A small Southeast Asian woman behind the counter points at fruit-filled muffins. She’s attempting, in somewhat understandable English, to explain to a very tall English woman that there are no “plain” muffins available.

RI hotel

I like the company work for, so seeing this view a few times a month is worth it. Noisy with the underexposure, but I’m OK with that.

Fountain at Detroit Metro Airport

It’ nice to be back home; time to flip through some of your fine work on my feed reader. I thought this fountain had a nice feel to it; next time I’ll try to get a few different angles.

Steph and James in Egypt

This photo dates back our 2002 trip to Egypt. It would be stronger without James in the background, but it’s still one of my favorite images. We camped for four days in the Sahara. Canyon wall in B&W

The last one of the desert tour. I hope you’ve liked them.

Desert flight, refueling

We had to stop at these fuel tanks in the middle of nowhere. I thought there might be a more involved process, but it’s pretty much just turn on the nozzle, squeeze the trigger and fill’er up.

Desert flight, marina

I like Hans’ comment on the last post about incriminating evidence from a spy plane. To me, this image is along the same lines, but maybe an 80’s instead 50’s version. Unlike most of the water we saw, the marina had a slight green tinge, possibly from algae blooming among the boat waste. I wish [...]

Desert flight, future homes

The shot’s blurry. I have a feeling that most won’t like it, but I find the grid of roads rolling along the landscape and the banking of the helicopter appealing. A retirement community is supposed to spring up here according to the pilot (hence the roads). I guess it would have a heck of a [...]
